My proposal is that any solution – including the people’s exigence to governments – must start with ethics, particularly by exchanging attitudes of prejudice and indifference toward migrants for attitudes of responsibility toward the other in need, and solidarity. I discuss some texts from Zygmunt Bauman because he has been one of the most renowned analysts of our society, and he himself was an exile.
Elena Álvarez-Álvarez Copyright (c) 2021 SOCIAL REVIEW. We propose here a view from the sociology of the individual, beginning with a debate within sociology, defining what the sociology of the individual is, the theoretical contributions it has and finally we explain three arguments to understand the causes of the social outbreak: a) a process of deinstitutionalization, b) a process of agentic individualism and c) social value and social (in) justice based on merit.

Jose Cembrano Copyright (c) 2021 SOCIAL REVIEW. In Colombia, there is a significant population of young Afro-descendants who have a series of religious and cultural beliefs rooted in their origins and traditions. Under this consideration, in this research, case of study, it is analyzed how ethno-education, as a public policy in Colombia, allows the development of the religious experience of young Afro-descendants.

Jorge Alberto Paez Pinto Copyright (c) 2021 SOCIAL REVIEW.
